Position: Project Web Developer

Reports to: Software Development Manager

Salary: £ 25,000 to £ 40,000 depending on relevant experience

Summary

Cascade have an immediate vacancy for a Project Web Developer – This role is a software development position based on the implementation of our software solutions into our clients.

An implementation typically consists of a data transfer (some simple, some very complex) and then any software development to satisfy the clients specific needs. The development requirements usually range from data extracts,interfaces & reports, taking a couple of days, through to entire new feature development taking from 2 weeks to several months.

Our typical client size are organisations with between 100 and 5000 employees. Recent client projects include GNER, CHEP, Action 4 Employment, InTechnology, British Land, Meadowhall, Yorkshire Forward.

Core Responsibilities

• Liasing closely with the Project Manager and the Development manager you will ensure you understand the scope of the client project
• Working together with the Systems and Infrastructure Manager to ensure a quality transfer/install process
• Any development work as part of a project will be carried out in a consistent, quality, maintainable fashion. The Software Development Manager will be consulted for guidance and kept informed of any delays/issues
• Proper unit testing of any development work
• Liasing directly with clients to understand better their requirements or to seek clarification
• The “patching” of re-usable features in a non-destructive, re-runnable fashion.

Critical Success Factors

• For this role the candidates willingness to learn , problem solving approach and general self starting attitude to work are key, however the candidate should also possess a good technical background, preferably gained within a software house environment.

Essential IT Skills

• 2+ Years commercial Experience
• ASP / ASP .NET 1.1 & 2.0 & 3.0 Web development
• SQL Server 2000 & 2005
• Microsoft Office (Core products Word, Excel, Internet Explorer etc.)
• Highly PC Literate
