Position: Data Migration Specialist

Reports to: Product Development Manager

Summary

Due to an increase in sales to new customers, we are expanding our technical team, creating another role for a Data Migration Specialist, working alongside and reporting to the Product Development Manager. This role is key to the successful operation and future growth of Cascade HR and gives the right candidate a real chance to make a difference to this small team.

This exciting office based role combines data analysis and migration, with dedicated systems configuration and support to our team of consultants. Depending on your skillset, there is also to opportunity do some software development on our core product, and to develop and enhance our internal tools.

The Candidate

• You have previous experience of data migration and transfer from both database and spreadsheet systems into SQL Server
• You have a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills
• As a true IT professional you will be quick to fit with the existing team, keen to assist wherever required.
• You will be a self starter with strong motivation and a good sense of what needs to be done.
• Your confident, professional telephone manor will assist you, where necessary to talk to our customers and consultants at the correct technical level.

Critical Success Factors

• For this role the candidates willingness to learn , problem solving approach and general self starting attitude to work are key, however the candidate should also possess a good technical background, preferably gained within a software house environment.

  Essential Skills

  • Strong SQL Server 2000/2005 (T-SQL Query writing, Stored Procedures, views, triggers, Database administration)
  • A reasonable understanding of web based systems and architecture HTML/ASP/ASP.NET
  • Consistent, calm, approachable
  • Highly PC Literate / Familiar with core Microsoft Products (Word/Excel/IE)

  Desirable Skills

  • ASP.NET with C#
  • HTML & Javascript
  • A working knowledge of Visual Studio, Fireworks

The new offices are just a 5 minute walk from New Pudsey train station, Asda and the M&S Owlcotes complex.
