Business HR Software
Cascade is a process led HR system. This means that whilst HR may wish to continue to access the HR records and activities in a traditional fashion other users, such as Managers, may wish to approach activities through processes which ‘hand hold’ them though any given task.
So, rather than search for an employee record in the HR system, we search for the right screen and then work out which fields to complete, who to tell and what to do when an employee rings in to confirm an absence the Manager merely checks the employee in his or her list of staff and selects the correct process from a list of activities, in this case ‘Report an absence’.
The ‘Report an absence’ process then begins and the Manager, HR and Employee sit back and react to the pre configured (usually by HR) process. This might typically include an automatic notification to HR, the relevant screen being presented to the Manager, an email to the absent employee’s department telling them their colleague will be absent and so on.
These HR processes are completely user defined by HR and because users do not need to know the process, merely needing to know which one to select in any given situation, then they can be changed without the need to re educate users about the changes. Each time they use it, they react so if it is different, they just react to the new steps (in most cases in the real world users don’t even notice the process has changed).
This delivers best practice, consistency, quality of service to the employee and a huge reduction in administration as well as a key benefit in that zero training is needed for users regarding company processes and best practice. Just train them to select the employee(s) the action is needed for and ensure they understand which process matches which event. The rest is controlled directly by HR.
