HR Analysis and Reporting
comprehensive hr reports using cascade systems
Cascade provides standard reports, customised reports and ad-hoc analysis and querying to help you make the most of your data.
Cascade's set of standard reports are powerful and easy to use. These reports are web based, offering drill down interactive reporting and in-built graphs.
Our unique query builder tool lets you define your own ad-hoc queries, which can then be published to other members of your organisation so they are available from within Cascade.
Security is fully handled and managers for example will only see reports or query results for the employees they manage when appropriate. Key data such as salary information is protected from unauthorised views.
Reports are web based and can be downloaded, saved and printed in a variety of industry standard formats, PDF, excel, HTML etc.
All reporting features within Cascade have been created by Cascade and designed specifically for the Cascade HR and Payroll system and users. We do not use third party reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.
When designing the reporting tools our Development team spent a lot of time with our clients discussing their key objectives for reporting and analysis and understanding the main failures of other systems to deliver suitable, easy to use and powerful reporting tools.
Creating a Report
A key theme the feedback produced was that users found it difficult finding the fields they wished to add to reports in previous systems they had used. Many reporting tools assume a knowledge of the database which typical users do not usually have. Therefore when designing our reporting features we have organised fields in the same way that they are organised within the system itself. To locate a field you select the screen you know it is in (from use of the system) and then simply double click the field.Please click the screen below for a larger image.
Once fields are selected each can be filtered using the simple, context sensitive, filtering options including equal to, greater than etc. However, this is provided in a user friendly, easy to use fashion. For example, when selecting areas of the hierarchy to report on, the organisation screen is provided.
Once the report has been created it can be saved as a standard report and shared with other users (or retained for personal use only) and run whenever required. Alternatively the report can be run as a one off without saving.
Reports can be sorted and all data can be graphed within Cascade HR. Each column can be sorted with a simple click. This allows you to manipulate data on an ad hoc basis without editing and re running the report.
Cascade includes a powerful graphing system that allows you to graph any and all data. Pie, Bar, Doughnut and table charts can be created with a single click.
Reports can also be exported to MS Excel with a single click for further manipulation as required.
Presenting Reports
Any query can be further formatted into detailed, presentable reports as per the standard reports.This is achieved through a simple 'Wizard' which allows the user to make choices whilst the system configures the final report for them.
Once selected the Report Wizard begins.
- The report wizard will take you through selecting:
- Format required (Word, Excel, Pivot table, HTML etc)
- Fields to include (a selection opportunity based on the fields in the original query)
- Grouping and aggregation
- Detailed or summary view
- Report look and feel
- Run Report
- Save report as a template or save report as a point in time data record (or both)
