Canopius underwriters assess risk and decide to implement Cascade



Canopius is a leading specialist underwriting business operating at Lloyd's. The organisation aims to generate consistent superior levels of profitability for our shareholders and other capital providers.

Their underwriters and other colleagues are dedicated to providing a first class service to policyholders and brokers and to the efficient handling of their insurance and reinsurance needs.

Through their managed syndicate, Canopius accepts a diversified portfolio of insurance and reinsurance risks from customers worldwide. They aim to develop an excellent underwriting franchise designed to maximise returns throughout the underwriting cycle.

Canopius identified the need for a modern, cutting edge integrated HR and Payroll solution and created a detailed and comprehensive tender invitation document which specified the solution they required. Amongst other suppliers Cascade were invited to respond to the tender.

Through a detailed selection process which included multiple demonstrations, reference sites and technical meetings, particularly with cascade's Payroll experts Cascade have been selected to supply HR, Training, Recruitment, Self Serve, Payroll, Timesheets, Policies and Procedures and Workflow solutions to Canopius.

A key factor in the decision to implement Cascade was the fact that Cascade do not partner for their Payroll solution but own, implement and support their own, internally developed range of solutions without any third party solutions. Canopius were keen to have a single supplier, single contract and single support arrangement as their HR and Payroll services are absolutely vital to the success of the business.

Another key element was the level of service that reference sites were keen to express their satisfaction with. Canopius's business is employee driven and therefore employees are extremely important.
