Cascade to lift Acorn's HR to new heights!

Acorn Stairlifts is an international, privately owned company, whose headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in the heart of Yorkshire, in Northern England, with sales offices and distribution centers in Orlando, Florida and Ontario, Canada. Acorn employs staff worldwide, and its core business is the manufacture and sale of Acorn Superglide electric stair lifts.

As well as a significant presence in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia & Germany Acorn have dealers all over the world, meaning the Acorn Stairlift is enjoyed by hundreds and thousands of customers in over 70 different countries.

Acorn Stairlifts was formed in 1992 and the business started by buying, reconditioning and reselling pre-owned stair lifts, as well as buying in new lifts from other UK manufacturers. Within a very short space of time, demand outstripped supply and Acorn were forced to explore other supply options to maintain their commitment to exceptional customer service levels. This produced sustained and constant growth resulting in the current 800 strong workforce. For Acorn employees are hugely important and subsequently the need for a professional HR Management solution was identified in 2007.

The Acorn HR team examined a wide range of solutions available to them and eventually shortlisted Cascade's .Net browser based HR solution. By working closely with Cascade's Sales Team, who take an advisory rather than hard sell approach, Acorn's selection team, headed by Becky Green, were able to take their time to ensure that Cascade was the right system for them. Richard Anderson, Cascade's Sales Director, said "We all feel it is very important that both Cascade and our clients are fully aware of what is possible and what isn't prior to signing contracts. By entering projects with everybody's eyes fully open to what has been bought and what has been sold we ensure that Projects are extremely smooth, trouble free and successful. This has resulted in a 100% success rate in Projects and subsequently in our client retention being as high as it is".

Acorn will roll out the Cascade solution in two phases with phase one including HR, Recruitment, Workflow and the System Designer module with Phase 2 following soon after to roll out the Self Serve module.
