Radian Housing lay the foundations for HR success!

Radian was formed on 14th December 2006 following the creation of a group structure that brought together five established housing associations and a specialist care organisation.

Radian are an award winning organisation for resident involvement and place their residents at the centre of all that they do. Together with their residents and local communities, they invest in regeneration and neighbourhood renewal to delivery outstanding choice based living.

Radian brings unmatched experience of building, regenerating and managing sustainable homes and environments and their staffing team of over 1,000 work together to deliver outstanding performance for our customers, and the communities in which they live.

In May 2007 Drum Housing, a partner member, was joint winner with Greenoak and Places for People in the prestigious national Housing Corporation's Gold Award category for Environmental Sustainability and described as a hotbed of innovation.

Selecting the right HR solution for the future was a high profile and hugely important step for Radian. Subsequently the organisation has spent a great deal of effort and time selecting Cascade from a range of potential suppliers including incumbent providers and other organisations from the HR Solutions industry.

The selection process included detailed examination of Cascade's solutions and also their methodologies and team of staff. Reference sites, demonstrations, technical examinations and detailed discussions with the Directors of Cascade, Project Managers, Technical staff and support and implementation staff have allowed Radian to select Cascade with confidence.

A vital aspect of the pre sales process was developing an understanding between Cascade and Radian to ensure that both parties fully understood the capabilities of the Cascade system and the detailed requirements of Radian. Tim Leather, Radian's Head of IT, said 'Cascade demonstrated a can do attitude when discussing and understanding our requirements at operational and technical levels whilst also introducing new ideas to us which has allowed us to identify solutions that weren't in our original specification', Tim continued, 'This was possible because we were able to build an excellent working relationship with Cascade before even becoming a customer'.

Tim felt that at a functional level Cascade offers something unique 'Cascade is one of the very few completely browser based solutions available but is unique in that their browser based system has been available for more than 3 years and subsequently it has a depth of functionality that systems just being released don't have' he added, 'the integrated timesheet / flexi time systems that Cascade offer are a good example of functionality rarely seen in applications of this nature'.

Dan Edwards, Cascade's Technical Director, was involved directly in the procurement process. Dan said 'Radian have some interesting and innovative plans for HR and it has been an enjoyable process working with them to match the Cascade solution to their needs. They obviously recognised the potential of our .Net HR solutions early in the process and have worked closely with us to identify a wide range of benefits that we can deliver for Radian'.

Cascade will be implemented across 4 sites at Radian and will be used by HR, Managers and Employees to manage all aspects of HR such as personnel, training, recruitment, workflow, self service, attendance, appraisals and analysis and reporting.
