Because your requirements will be different to our next client and because your data management needs continually change, Cascade’s HR module comes with our unique System Designer module included as standard.
System Designer ensures you always record data how you want it to be recorded by allowing any employee or applicant record screen to be edited or added to with unlimited fields, renaming of fields and screens, changes to field types and a whole range of powerful features. It even allows you to import data from MS Excel straight into a blank table and it will design the fields and populate them automatically. Upgrades are completely unaffected and you retain any changes you have made.
Edit Standard Screens
System Designer gives you the power to edit screens such as employee and applicant records. Simple drag and drop functionality means you can order and name fields as your users understand them easing data input and reducing errors.
The facility to change field types to suit your data input and rename the screen itself means that rather than adapt your preferred working practices Cascade adapts instead thus reducing administration, eliminating errors and ensuring reports make sense.

Import Data and Add Screens Automatically
As usual, when we roll out new functionality our clients quickly tell us how to improve it. It quickly became apparent that a great deal of the time new screens were needed to accommodate data held in spreadsheets so we now provide a feature which allows our clients to add a new screen with a single click and then import a spreadsheet directly to that screen (for as many lines of data as required) and the System Designer will both create the relevant fields and also import the data.
As you would expect from Cascade, any new fields and data become instantly reportable and can be used in workflows, rolled out to self service and genrally used as a standard data screen.

Real World Features
When you use the automatic screen design tool by importing a spreadsheet fields may be date fields or free form fields. In many cases you may want free form fields to be changed into list or "drop down" fields.
Cascade includes a feature which can automatically read the contents of a given field across all records and create a list from the contents and turn the field into a drop down list field with no more than a couple of clicks. This is a prime example of the myriad of functionality Cascade presents that has been driven by our client's real world experiences.
