Long-standing Cascade employee shortlisted for European sales award

Cascade HR is no stranger to award success and industry accreditations. Having previously been crowned ‘Software Provider of the Year’ – and with CIPP Payroll Quality Partnership, Investors in People Bronze, Microsoft Gold Partner Status and enhanced HMRC recognition under our belts – the 110-strong team has a lot to be proud of.

But now there is even more reason to celebrate, having discovered our field sales consultant Charlotte Mallinson is a finalist in the European Women in Sales Awards 2014.

As one of the final three in the ‘IT Sales’ category, Charlotte will now meet with a panel of judges on November 6th, where she will be quizzed on the intricacies of her sales approach and the reasons for her commercial successes to date. She must then wait until December 5th, when the winner will be announced at a glittering black tie award ceremony at the iconic Savoy in London.

Here, Charlotte will be joined by more than 40 other finalists from incredibly well-known brands including Google, Coca Cola and Npower, before they discover who will lift the trophies on the night.

Commercial director Richard Anderson was responsible for Charlotte’s nomination. Outlining why he felt she would make a strong candidate for this fiercely contested category he explains: “The world of sales is a naturally male-dominated environment, not least in the technology sector.

“Whilst we have a very talented internal and field sales team on the whole, Charlotte’s expertise and her gift for nurturing new business relationships, meant she stood out to me as a real contender.

“Charlotte joined the company almost six years ago, as a telesales employee. She has learned her ‘trade’ from grass roots level, understanding the functionality and benefits of the product, and truly committing to Cascade’s USP – providing fantastic service. That ethos drives her approach to sales – she is honest, personable and works hard to devise intelligent solutions that will really solve the problems


of prospective new customers. Her sales forecasts are also highly accurate, which enables our management team to progress Cascade’s business strategy with confidence.”

In the last financial year Charlotte was responsible for 20% of new business sales, smashing her target by 50%. But, keen to ensure these new client wins develop into long-term satisfied customers, she has maintained a close link with Cascade’s hard-working project and services teams, helping them in any way she can. She is also a valuable pair of eyes and ears on the ground and feeds back to the development team when she has an idea for something new.

Commenting on her delight at the news, Charlotte said: “To have been recognised amongst so many great names in the sales profession is just awesome. To me, I’m just doing my job, in a role that I really enjoy!

“The hard work isn’t over yet as I must now prepare to meet the judges early next month. However, I am going to adopt the same approach that I use for all my presentations – listen carefully to the questions that are posed, use my initiative and experience, and deliver honest, engaging answers that I hope will showcase my knowledge, passion and commitment.”
