MSC (UK) is the UK agent to the world’s second largest shipping company. With over 600 employees it’s no wonder they needed a robust HR system to manage their ever growing employee records.
We spoke to Andrew Jones, HR Business Partner at MSC (UK) to find out a little more about their procurement process and why Cascade was the right choice for them.
Why did MSC (UK) decide to implement HR software?
We already had a system in place that wasn’t meeting the ever changing needs of our business. We are extremely proud that our success as a company has always been achieved through organic growth, so it was vital to us that we found a product that would grow with us as we continue our journey.
Via which methods did you search for this?
We knew we wanted to pick the right product that would work for us for years to come, so we spent a lot of time exploring options in the marketplace, starting off with software shows.
How did you evaluate the various software options?
We had a detailed tender process which included all the functionality we felt we needed at the time and from this 3 companies were shortlisted. We then held a number of demos with each potential supplier in order to make sure we made the right choice, first time.
Why did you choose Cascade?
We were really impressed by the whole package on offer by Cascade. The fundamental system is so adaptable and it’s got so much potential to streamline our transactional processes.
Not only were they able to tick the boxes we knew we needed, they were able to tick many more which we hadn’t even thought of, such as Mobile apps.
The other important factor was that the staff at Cascade seemed to know their stuff whilst at the same time remaining down to earth. This is how we like to run our business and it was refreshing to find a like-minded company with whom we can build a lasting partnership.
What benefits has Cascade brought to your organisation?
Already, our business has responded well to the product. It has improved the profile of self-service available across our
business and gives our managers and employees greater access to the information they need.
We are really looking forward to building on this to make our people processes as effortless as possible. This will enable us to focus our energy on the things that really matter: our people.
