<p>Cascade will implement its innovative HR software, developed using the very latest Microsoft .NET technology, which has been designed from the outset to span a whole organisation and not just provide functionality for HR departments. It has also been developed to engage employees and managers throughout an organisation to ensure best practice, efficiency and open communication.</p>

<p><strong>Banishing the Monday blues</strong></p>
<p>Emma Jones from the Cascade Marketing Team talks about banishing those monday blues! &#8220;The ‘most depressing day of the year’ is allegedly only a couple of weeks away. The gloomy weather, post-Christmas lull, financial worries and a struggle to get re-motivated after the festive period all apparently contribute to what is now commonly known as ‘Blue Monday’. So with more people expected to be absent from work on the 23rd of January than any other day this year, why not consider how you could improve your organisation’s approach to absence management?</p>
<p>The implementation of a proactive and intelligent software solution can in fact remove a lot of the headache for the HR team. Not only are processes fine-tuned and streamlined as a result of best practice workflows, but software can bring about subtle cultural changes that indirectly impact positively upon workplace absence.</p>
<p>When you introduce self-service functionality amongst your line management and wider workforce, employees know that information relating to absences and the ways with which these absences are handled, is much more visible. This slowly affects – even if subconsciously – organisations’ absence quotas. Cascade client Wakefield and District Housing for example experienced a decrease in sickness absence levels across the organisation following the introduction of manager self-service for sickness reporting – the absence rate average per employee fell from 10.5 to 9.75 days, a noted improvement. </p>
<p>As an employer, you should be aware of the cause of absences as part of your duty of care to employees, but it is also important to consider the undesirable pressures that may be placed on individuals who are in work and are struggling with an increased workload due to missing colleagues.</p>
<p>Of course, if you do suspect that your staff are in need of a boost, you could also have a think about what simple steps you could take to lift their spirits&#8230;</p>
<li>If you usually wear formal business attire, consider having a ‘dress down’ day in the office to break the ordinary workplace routine and encourage employees to feel relaxed?</li>
<li>Encourage staff to get some fresh air at lunch time, whether it’s a general 30 minute walk or lunch together in the local cafe – you could even treat them if the accounts department will allow it!</li>
<li>Invite a local therapist to come into your organisation to talk to employees about their services – you could even ask them to deliver some stress-busting taster treatments such as a neck and shoulder massage or meditation session</li>
<li>Why not hold a Monday ‘raffle’ whereby each employee in work receives a ticket to ‘win’ an extra day’s holiday the following month?</li>
<li>Get the work social club agenda rolling – hold a brainstorm and suggest a different activity for the last Monday of each month, starting of course on the 23rd! This could be anything from playing board games accumulated at Christmas, to a workplace ‘come lunch with me’ where colleagues take it in turns to showcase their culinary expertise</li>
<li>A change is as good as a rest so why not arrange a job swap for the day, especially if your workplace is experiencing a quiet post-Christmas period. This would be an excellent opportunity for an accounts executive to move to customer services, or your production manager to man reception for a day, whilst encouraging mutual workplace empathy and communication too</li>

J &#038; E Hall’s worldwide reputation has been built over many years on their ability to successfully meet customer requirements, however demanding.</p>
<p> As part of the OYL Industries BHD, J&#038;E Hall’s reputation across the world continues to grow as the Company’s expansion into the markets of South East Asia, North and South America and Eastern Europe gathers pace. </p>
<p>Alongside our <strong>core HR </strong>module J&#038;E Hall will implement a range of flexible modules including <strong>Self Service, Workflow and our HMRC Standard Payroll module</strong>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cascade HR’s dedicated hosted service reached a significant milestone last week, when the system recorded its one millionth customer log-in.</p>
<p>The hosted service is one of two installation options for Cascade’s award-winning HR and payroll software solution. Launched in 2007 it provides an alternative for clients that cannot or do not want to install the software on their own server.</p>
<p><img class="imgright" src="http://www.cascadehr.co.uk/images/login.jpg"/></p>
<p>Cascade’s infrastructure manager Simon Blezard explains: “Approximately 25% of our clients opt for a hosted service because of the many benefits that this option brings, not least the increased inbuilt resilience of all data being replicated and located at separate, secure geographical sites. </p>
<p>We don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach to working with clients, which is why we have worked hard to create a variety of installation options that hopefully ensure we have something for everyone. Our one millionth customer log-in for the hosted system certainly shows that this tried-and-tested service is proving very successful indeed.”</p>

<p><strong>Sir George Monoux College </strong>are the latest organisation from the education sector to make Cascade the number one choice for HR software.</p>
<p>Sir George Monoux College is a Sixth Form College, catering for 16-19 year olds, situated in the North East London Borough of Waltham Forest. It is located on a single 17.5 acre site in Walthamstow. The main building is set back from the road in landscaped grounds, surrounded by two playing fields. The College serves a wide catchment area and approximately half of its students live in the neighbouring London boroughs of Newham, Haringey, Hackney, Enfield and Tower Hamlets. Access to Central London is good via tube, rail and bus links. The College aims to help students reach their highest potential whether it is academic, artistic or vocational.</p>
<p>Cascade’s <strong>core HR </strong>solution will provide Sir George Monoux College with a huge amount of standard functionality and key features such as Attendance and Holiday Management, Organisational Charts, Reporting and a whole host of other features.</p>
<p>Sir George Monoux College will also implement our fully integrated <strong>Self Service, Workflow, Training and Recruitment modules.</strong></p>
<p>Cascade’s Recruitment module will deliver a comprehensive and powerful recruitment solution which will help the college reduce administration and ensure best practice is followed, whilst maximising their opportunity to recruit the very best staff available.</p>
<p>Cascade’s Training module will enable Sir George Monoux College to accurately measure their return on investment, in the shape of on-going workplace evaluation. This will allow them to see just how training has changed the individual’s ability to carry out their role and motivate people to put their newfound skills into practice.</p>
<p>Supported by a dedicated Project Manager and committed Client Services team will ensure Cascade is configured to both Sir George Monoux College requirements and business objectives.</p>
