MNDA choose Cascade as their new HR and Payroll integrated software solution

In 2013 the Association began to look for an integrated HR and Payroll solution to replace their current system. We caught up with Simon Cooper, Head of ICT, and Peter Reeve, Head of HR, to find out about their procurement process.

Why did MNDA Association decide to implement HR software?

The main reason for changing our HR system was the desire to integrate our HR and payroll systems.  With an increasingly complex workforce and the new pension arrangements we wanted to ensure that there was closer integration of HR and payroll reducing the risk of errors between the two systems.  We were also hoping to improve our reporting capability and consistency. Generating reports was previously complex and it was difficult for the HR staff to produce ad-hoc reports.

Via which methods did you search for this?

We searched the Internet, and attended the CIPD HR Software Show last year, where we saw demos of a number of systems, including Cascade. We had given some thought to our needs before we attended the show which helped us to identify potential solutions during our visit.

How did you evaluate the various software options?

We went through a formal tender process, which set out in detail our requirements. The tender process enabled us to score the responses, and it soon became clear which of the systems were best suited to our needs. We then invited the shortlisted suppliers to demonstrate their software and show us how the solution could meet the requirements we’d set out.

And finally, why did you choose Cascade?

Cascade appeared to offer a truly integrated HR and payroll solution and we were impressed with the way that the system managed the interface between the two functions.  It also offered a user friendly reporting tool which could easily be used by the HR team.

Through the selection process Cascade were very clear about the capability of the system and genuinely wanted to work in partnership with us to deliver a solution that would meet our needs.
